Viola Mueller

Viola Mueller, 98, of Landeck, died at 5:25 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Vancrest Health Care Center.

She was born October 8, 1912, in Landeck, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Matilda (Morketter) Gengler. On October 24, 1936, she married Melville C. Mueller, who preceded her in death on February 7, 1965.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Mueller of Delphos and Stanley (Shirley) Mueller of Landeck; two daughters, Patricia Vorst of Middle Point and Joyce (Larry) Keipper of Delphos; a sister, Valeria Schmit of Delphos; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A son, Leo Mueller; an infant brother, Hilary Gengler; five sisters, Martha Trentman, Esther Buettner, Estella Schwinnen, Valeta Gengler and Mary Gengler; and a granddaughter, Karen Barnes, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 23, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck, with Father Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s the Baptist Cemetery in Landeck.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a Catholic Ladies of Columbia memorial service will be held at 3 that afternoon and a wake service will be at 7:30 that evening.
