Opera house donation

Ewing “Bud” White, former owner of Bud’s Variety Store in Convoy, donated $1,000 to the Convoy Opera House Restoration Project. Bud and his wife, Rosanna, operated their store in Convoy from 1953 to 1990.  Bud’s Variety Store was the center of shopping in Convoy for young and old alike during that time. Accepting the donation is Cindy Harting, a member of the Village of Convoy Historical Society. Convoy area residents are urged to follow the White’s example to help meet the challenge to preserve Convoy’s history by donating to the Convoy Opera House Restoration Project. (photo submitted)
