Lichtensteiger is a member of Boy Scout Troop 31, sponsored by First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, and is the son of Janice and David Lichtensteiger.

Lichtensteiger’s Eagle Scout project was to make the nature trails at Halls Woods in Convoy more user-friendly to students and community.

The major part of the project was planning and executing the building of a wooden handicap-accessible boardwalk. Lichtensteiger also placed identification markers by various trees and placed stone on the paths for easier hiking.

Lichtensteiger was presented an American flag and an Eagle Scout certificate from the Elks.

Representing the Van Wert Lodge at the ceremony were Exalted Ruler Keith S. Rydell and Past State President Michael C. Stanley.
