SWCD planning local Pond Clinic

Planning to build a pond or have pond-related questions? Are weeds in a pond becoming a problem? Want to stock fish in a new pond? What about tree planting or animal nuisance control?

For the answers to these and many other questions, plan to attend the Pond Clinic sponsored by the Van Wert Soil and Water Conservation District.

The clinic will be held Thursday, June 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Karen Jean Myers pond, 9835 Richey Road outside Van Wert,

The clinic will feature presentations on pond construction, stocking the pond, tree and shrub plantings, animal nuisance control, and aquatic vegetation management.

The clinic is free of charge and is open to the public, and will be held weather permitting.  Contact the Van Wert SWCD at 419.238.9591 if the weather is questionable. Participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Refreshments will be provided by the SWCD at the conclusion of the clinic.

Directions to the clinic are as follows: from Van Wert, take U.S. 224 west to Richey Road, turn north and go seven-tenths of a mile. House and pond are on the east side of the road. Signs will be posted.
