Camera Club talks about exhibits

The monthly business meeting began as the Wassenberg Camera Club reviewed changes that will be implemented for the upcoming October Photography Exhibit. Prospective entrants can look forward to now entering gallery wrap canvas prints to the competition, which often allows photographers to get prints of an odd sized ready for competition easier. The miscellaneous category has been removed this year, but those entering are still allowed to have up to nine photographs, with up to three in a category.

A variety of photography related equipment was given by Mr. and Mrs. Bud Stamper. The club thanks them for their donation.

Members were reminded also about the upcoming Van Wert County Fair photography competition. Be thinking about this year’s categories, which include Van Wert County Fair, On the Farm, Silly Portraits, Night Time, and In Motion.

The monthly competition theme for June was Sunsets, and saw ample entries in both the slide and print competitions. Tracy Sterling took first place for sunset after a storm at the Van Wert Reservoir.  Cody Hollis’ slide from a Grand Lake Saint Mary’s sunset took second.

There were 47 prints entered this month, with Cody Hollis winning 1st for another sunset at Grand Lake Saint Maries. Keith Mongold won second place for a print of a Town Creek image after a flood. A rural sunset by Virginia
