Crestview races past Ada for win No. 9

ADA — The Crestview Knights hit an amazing 65 percent of their shots and won their fifth straight with an 80-38 victory over Ada on Friday night.
The Knights were 32-49 from the floor, including 9 of 17 from three point range while holding the host Bulldogs to 15 of 34 (44 percent) shooting. Crestview also forced 25 Ada turnovers.
It was the fifth straight win for Crestview (9-3, 4-0 NWC) and the ninth consecutive loss for Ada (2-11, 1-2 NWC).
The Knights wasted no time in the first quarter as Wade Sheets and Javin Etzler each hit baskets, followed by a trey by Drew Kline and a short range shot by Derek Stout that gave Crestview a 9-0 lead. After a triple by Ada’s Phillip Coulson, Stout scored again and Jace Vining hit a triple for a 14-3 advantage. Sheets hit two more baskets and Brett Schumm drained a three pointer to close out scoring for the Knights in the period.
Armed with a 21-10 lead, Crestview outscored the Bulldogs 18-8 in the second quarter for a 39-18 halftime advantage, then Knights blitzed Ada 26-7 in the third stanza for a 64-25 lead. Stout and Sheets each scored six points in the second period, and Stout scored six more in the third quarter, while Trevor Gibson scored nine points in the third period.
Charles Stefanek hit a late in the third quarter and added another in the fourth, and Grant Schlagbaum scored all five of his points in the final period.
Stout led all scorers with 16 points, followed by Sheets (15) and Gibson (14). Ethan Swaney led Ada with 11.
Crestview will host Shawnee on Tuesday.
