Decker finishes 14th at State Bowling

COLUMBUS — Van Wert High School freshman Lorrie Decker fared well in state finals competition, finishing 14th out of 103 bowlers at the Division II State Bowling Tournament held at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl on Saturday.

Decker finished the day with a 549 series (203-184-162) and was the highest placing freshman in a field dominated by juniors and seniors. She also earned All-Ohio honorable mention accolades.
Bath High School’s Bryana Twining finished with the highest individual series – 684. The senior had games of 216-245-223. Her score easily outdistanced her nearest competitor, Audrey Wilson of Cincinnati Seven Hills, who rolled a 629 series (180-203-246).
Fairport Harding defeated Coldwater for the Division II team title, followed by Bryan, Versailles and St. Marys Memorial.
