VW Parks Department sets 5K, fun runs

The Van Wert Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with The Gaylord E. Leslie Wellness Center and Purmort Brothers Insurance, are offering a 5K race and kids Fun Run on Sunday, March 25, beginning and ending at Smiley Park.

The course will showcase the park, along with the connecting bike trail. Registration starts at 1 p.m., with the Fun Run starting at 2 p.m. and 5K at 2:30 that afternoon.

The Van Wert Parks and Recreation Department encourages runners and walkers of all abilities to participate. Preregistration forms can be found on the Van Wert Parks Department website at www.vanwertparksrecreation.weebly.com or those participating can register the day of race.
