{"id":101796,"date":"2018-04-25T07:21:20","date_gmt":"2018-04-25T12:21:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=101796"},"modified":"2018-04-25T07:21:20","modified_gmt":"2018-04-25T12:21:20","slug":"baseball-lancers-hammer-miller-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2018\/04\/25\/baseball-lancers-hammer-miller-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Baseball: Lancers hammer Miller City"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SCOTT TRUXELL\/<\/strong><em>independent sports editor<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Six runs in the third inning and four more in the fourth turned a 1-0 lead into a five inning, 11-0 non-conference baseball win over visiting Miller City on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Along the way, Ethan Parsons pitched a complete game and held the Wildcats to just four hits, while striking out five and walking just one.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-62438\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Lincolnview-Lancer-logo-4-2015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>\u201cHe had a good selection of pitches tonight and he was locating them very well,\u201d Lincolnview head coach Eric Fishpaw said of his senior pitcher. \u201cGlad to see him have another terrific outing for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gavin Carter opened the third inning with a single to right field, advanced to second on a bunt by Ethan Kemler, then crossed home plate on a double by Collin Overholt. Creed Jessee followed that with a triple that scored Kemler and Overholt. An RBI single by Thad Walker plated Jessee and increased Lincolnview\u2019s lead to 5-0. Walker accounted for the final run of the inning when he stole home.<\/p>\n<p>Four walks in the bottom of the fourth led to a run scored by Carter, then Kemler scored on a wild pitch.
