{"id":102442,"date":"2018-05-10T00:01:05","date_gmt":"2018-05-10T05:01:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=102442"},"modified":"2018-05-09T20:34:32","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T01:34:32","slug":"jerry-lucas-coming-to-van-wert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2018\/05\/10\/jerry-lucas-coming-to-van-wert\/","title":{"rendered":"Jerry Lucas coming to Van Wert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Submitted information\/Van Wert independent sports<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The OSU Alumni Club of Van Wert &amp; Paulding Counties will host Ohio State basketball legend Jerry Lucas on Tuesday, May 22 at Willow Bend Country Club in Van Wert.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_102444\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-102444\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-102444\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Jerry-Lucas-photo-2018.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"198\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-102444\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Jerry Lucas<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Lucas played for the Buckeyes from 1959-1962 and was a three-time consensus All-American, before playing\u00a0professional basketball for 11 years for the Cleveland Pipers, the Cincinnati Royals, San Francisco Warriors and the New York Knicks.<\/p>\n<p>Now a memory education expert, Lucas will present his &#8220;Dr Memory&#8217;s Universe&#8221; his newest learning &amp; memory program which he is interested in making available to school systems.<\/p>\n<p>Doors to the event will open at 5:30 p.m. and a meal will be served at 6:00 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The evening will provide great information about Jerry&#8217;s Memory Program, and no doubt Jerry will also provide some Ohio State basketball history.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in Van Wert by calling JoAnne Wolford at:419.238.3525 or Dr. Carl Jeffery at 419.238.5810 or in Paulding by calling Ellie Barns 419.399.5855.
