A group of Van Wert residents traveled to Sauder Village in Archbold to watch him take the oath. Father Charles had looked after St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Van Wert while its pastor was on leave and stayed here until the summer of 2007 and, since then, has been serving as chaplain at St. Rita&#8217;s Medical Center in Lima. He is also helping out in Defiance while that parish\u2019s pastor is on medical leave.
