{"id":102754,"date":"2018-05-17T06:07:36","date_gmt":"2018-05-17T11:07:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=102754"},"modified":"2018-05-17T06:07:36","modified_gmt":"2018-05-17T11:07:36","slug":"korte-named-athlete-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2018\/05\/17\/korte-named-athlete-of-the-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Korte named Athlete of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Van Wert independent sports<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Lincolnview High School sophomore Brad Korte has been named the Northwest Conference Track and Field Male Athlete of the Year by NWC coaches.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_102753\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-102753\" style=\"width: 90px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-102753\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/BradKorteAoY.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"90\" height=\"106\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-102753\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Brad Korte<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As a member of the Lincolnview Track and Field team, Korte excelled at a handful of events, most notably the sprints and the long jump.<\/p>\n<p>Korte finished as the NWC 100 meter dash champion (11.43), the 200 meter dash champion (23.37), and the long jump champion (20-06). He also finished sixth in the high jump (5-08).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to track and field, Korte was a key member of the Lincolnview High School club bowling team.<\/p>\n<p>The Male Coach of the Year was Columbus Grove\u2019s Chris Grothaus, and the Female Coach of the Year was Tim Staley, also of Columbus Grove.<\/p>\n<p>The Female Athlete of the Year was Nelayla Burden of Spencerville.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Van Wert independent sports Lincolnview High School sophomore Brad Korte has been named the Northwest Conference Track and Field Male Athlete of the Year by NWC coaches.
