Ernest Alexander Parkanzky passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 6, 2011.<\/p>\n
He was born on April 30, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Alec and Hermina Parkanzky. On April 19, 1958, he married Theresa (Kufta) Parkanzky at St. Michael\u2019s Church in Muskegon, Mich.<\/p>\n
Ernest was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, the Knights of Columbus and Elks Lodge 1197.<\/p>\n
Survivors include six children and 19 grandchildren, Daniel (Kim) Parkanzky of Chelsea, Mich., and sons Max and Samson; Marie Halloran of North Salem, N.Y., and children Jake, Conor, Aidan, Kieran, Declan and Phelan; Karen (Roger) Vogler of Winchester, Va., and children Simon, Noah and Veronica; Connie (David) Snyder of Bellevue, and children Adrienne, Addison, Elliot, Oliver and Evan; Paul (Kristina) Parkanzky of Middleville, Mich.; and John (Natalia) Parkanzky of Lakewood, and children Oleksander and Zenovia.<\/p>\n
Surviving siblings include Elsie McKeown, Wilma (Frank) Iafrate, Nancy (Marcello) Scappaticci, and Frank (Merrie) Parkanzky.<\/p>\n
A son-in-law, Vincent Halloran; a brother, William, and his wife Jean also preceded him in death.<\/p>\n
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Fathers Charles Obinwa and Stan Szybka officiating.<\/strong><\/p>\n There will be no calling hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n Preferred memorials: St. Mary\u2019s church or a charity of donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n Arrangements were handled by Brickner\u2019s Funeral Home in Van Wert.<\/p>\n
