Marshall, 83, died June 28, 2011, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion, Ind.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8711\" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/American-Flag-for-obituaries-6-2011.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"66\" \/>He was born July 27, 1927, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Emery and Dessie Grace (Blackwood) Marshall.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mary (Harley) Marshall; and two nieces, Diana Bockrath and Shirley Smith.<\/p>\n<p>Three brothers, Paul, Glen and Harley Marshall, and two sisters, Leafel Smith and Mary Jane Marshall, also preceded him in death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memorial services were conducted July 6.
