United Way of Van Wert County Executive Director Vicki Smith announced that Tisha Fast has been named the 2018 campaign chair.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am looking forward to working with Tisha on this year\u2019s campaign,\u201d Smith said. \u201cTisha brings a great passion to the campaign chair position. She has been a strong leader in our community and was recently awarded the Women of Achievement award for overcoming adversity at the YWCA banquet.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is involved with Van Wert Rotary, she supports many community events with company sponsorships, she serves and volunteers at her church: Calvary Evangelical,\u201d Smith added. \u201cTisha has brought some great ideas to the campaign committee and has involved everyone in the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cTisha is a great role model for many people in Van Wert and will continue to set goals for the Van Wert United Way to be a great place to give and advocate,\u201d Smith noted. \u201cIt is going to be fun to see the excitement generated with this year\u2019s campaign theme.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fast as been a member of the United Way Board of Trustees for the past three years. She first joined the board in 2016 and the Executive Board in 2017. She has been a member-at-large, a member of the Day of Caring Committee, served on the Admissions & Review Committee, and is now campaign chair.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am proud and excited to be this year\u2019s campaign chair,\u201d Fast said. \u201cI want to really let people know who and what United Way of Van Wert County is. I feel it is important for people to know where their donations are going and how they are making a difference in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fast said this year\u2019s campaign theme is \u201cWhat is United Way?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMost people have a general idea of what United Way is, but not the full scope of what the United Way does and where their funds go,\u201d Fast added. \u201cI personally have learned a lot as a board member of what all our county United Way offers and assists with.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur area has so many great programs to help those in need and we have an incredible community that has a strong sense of helping,\u201d she said. \u201cThat is what I love most about being part of such a great organization is that I get to see how much we are helping others and being part of our community that is willing to help in BIG ways. Being able to give back is so rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fast is the owner of the Tisha Fast State Farm Insurance agency. Tisha is married to David, they have two children, Whitley and Clayton.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
