{"id":10773,"date":"2011-07-18T02:48:36","date_gmt":"2011-07-18T07:48:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=10773"},"modified":"2011-07-18T02:49:00","modified_gmt":"2011-07-18T07:49:00","slug":"ymca-to-participate-in-yard-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2011\/07\/18\/ymca-to-participate-in-yard-sale\/","title":{"rendered":"YMCA to participate in garage sale event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The YMCA of Van Wert County will be one of the many participants in this year\u2019s Lincoln Highway\/127 garage sales, but something will set theirs apart from the rest.\u00a0 Everything will be $1, unless otherwise marked.\u00a0 Another \u201cdraw\u201d will be a live car auction that will end the event.<\/p>\n<p>The sale will be held Friday, August 5, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, August 6, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.\u00a0 Sales will be in the front yard of the Y and will end with a LIVE car auction in front of the Y at 1 p.m. on Saturday. \u201cDollar dogs\u201d and drinks will also be sold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days, with a hot grill ready to serve up the hot dogs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLocal car dealers Lee Kinstle GM Sales and Service and Taylor Auto have agreed to donate cars to the auction and Kennedy-Kuhn will be donating a John Deere riding mower,\u201d stated Hugh Kocab, YMCA executive director. \u201cWe appreciate their continued support and dedication to one of Van Wert\u2019s premier organizations,\u201d Kocab added.\u00a0 The cars will be available for viewing in front of the Y starting Monday, July 18.<\/p>\n<p>Other items being sold at the garage sale will be those donated from Y and community members.\u00a0 Anyone who has things they want to get rid of, but don\u2019t want to hold a sale of their own are welcome\u00a0 to donate good condition items to the Y for this sale.\u00a0 \u201cThis is a great way to clean out your closets and benefit a great local organization such as ours,\u201d stated Kocab.<\/p>\n<p>Those wanting to donate items may do so anytime the Y is open during the week of July 25-30, 2011.\u00a0 Good condition items of all sorts and sizes are welcome.\u00a0 If one needs help transporting larger items, please contact the Y for assistance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the first year the Y has taken part in these sales and we are hoping it can be a great benefit to both the community and the Y,\u201d Kocab stated.<\/p>\n<p>If interested in donating items and have any questions, one may contact J.J.
