The Wassenberg Camera Club met Thursday, July 14, at the Wassenberg Art Center to compete in prints and slides that featured Leading Lines.\u00a0 President Jodi Hattery came away the big winner with a first in slides and second in prints.\u00a0 Both of her winning pictures had been taken in the Foellinger-Freimann\u00a0Botanical Conservatory, located at the corner of Jefferson Boulevard and Calhoun Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana.<\/p>\n

Jan Sorensen’s print of a bridge on the New River Gorge Trail in West Virginia was selected as the best print.\u00a0 There was a\u00a0three-way tie for second in slides, and on the second vote, Keith Mongold’s\u00a0\u00a0photo of a weather vane, now located\u00a0in his flower garden,\u00a0came out on top once again<\/p>\n

In other business, Treasurer Karl Gribler, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, sent his report for the month.\u00a0 He stated that only one member has money yet\u00a0to turn in\u00a0 from the sale of the club’s discount food cards.\u00a0 Secretary Rex Dolby reminded the group that the deadline to enter the Van Wert County Fair photo exhibit is at the end of the month.\u00a0 Categories in color and B\/W include: Van Wert County. Fair, On the Farm, Silly Portraits, Night Time, and In Motion.<\/p>\n

Hattery announced that the Art Association of Randolph County, located in Union City Indiana, will be holding its 8th Annual Summertime Photography Show August 4-17.\u00a0 Categories include: Animals, Architecture, Landscape, Night Images, Plants, Portraits of Humans or Pets,\u00a0 Photo &\u00a0Sports<\/p>\n

Journalism, Special Effects, Still Life, and Miscellaneous.\u00a0 Entries\u00a0will be received July 29 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and July 30 from 10 a.m.-noon..\u00a0 Photographers may enter up to four photos at $5 each per member or $10 each for non-members.\u00a0 Anyone wishing more information, may Email:\u00a0jan@artsdepot.org<\/a> or go to their website:\u00a0www.artsdepot.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n
