Adams, 83, of rural\u00a0Spencerville,\u00a0passed away\u00a0Sunday, December 2, 2018,\u00a0at her residence.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_110227\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-110227\" style=\"width: 275px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-110227\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Shirley-Adams-obit-photo-12-2018.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"404\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-110227\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Shirley A. Adams<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She was born December 15, 1934, in Fort Wayne, Indiana,\u00a0the daughter of Homer Elsworth and\u00a0Vera Mae (Ankney) Foreman, who both preceded her in death.Her first husband, John Gilbert Sigler, is deceased.\u00a0She then married\u00a0Robert Dean Adams\u00a0on May 24, 1969, and he died May 11, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Shirley is survived by four children, Brenda Rae Sigler (Jim) Wise\u00a0of\u00a0Hillsdale, Michigan,\u00a0Kim J. (LuAnn) Sigler of Rockford,\u00a0Jodi N. (Eric Winner) Adams Veit of Celina,\u00a0and\u00a0Troy Robert\u00a0(Cheryl) Adams of Spencerville;\u00a0eight\u00a0grandchildren, Ryan Blue,\u00a0Steven Blue,\u00a0Lauren Blue Keiffer, Angie Sigler Stephenson,\u00a0J.R. Sigler,\u00a0RJ Veit,\u00a0Paige Veit,\u00a0and Tye Adams; and\u00a0nine\u00a0great-grandchildren.\u00a0A sister-in-law, Rosemary Foreman, survives in Van Wert.<\/p>\n<p>A sister and three brothers, Eugene (Norma) Foreman,\u00a0Homer Robert\u00a0(Leotta) Foreman,\u00a0Virginia \u201cGinny\u201d (William David) Pollock,\u00a0and\u00a0Byron Foreman, also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n<p>A 1952 graduate of Van Wert High School, Shirley\u00a0worked at\u00a0Federal Mogul Corporation and Teleflex Corporation in Van Wert, and retired\u00a0from Milcor\u00a0in\u00a0Lima\u00a0in 1997.\u00a0She had belonged to the Van Wert County Farm Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>She was a member of St. Mark\u2019s Lutheran Church in Van Wert, but had been attending Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, near Mendon.<\/p>\n<p>Shirley enjoyed her family and grandchildren very much, and liked\u00a0to attend her grandchildren\u2019s sporting events.She enjoyed taking\u00a0care\u00a0of her yard and the farm animals.\u00a0Shirley\u00a0was\u00a0very fond of hummingbirds,\u00a0spending time\u00a0feeding and watching them.\u00a0Toby, Shirley&#8217;s dog, was a special member of her family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Private family services will be held.\u00a0Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery, near Mendon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to State of the Heart Care.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements were made by W.H.
