{"id":110755,"date":"2018-12-18T08:11:22","date_gmt":"2018-12-18T13:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=110755"},"modified":"2018-12-18T08:11:22","modified_gmt":"2018-12-18T13:11:22","slug":"groups-participate-in-vwcf-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2018\/12\/18\/groups-participate-in-vwcf-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Groups participate in VWCF program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Seven local non-profit organizations recently dedicated time, money, and resources to capacity building program.<\/p>\n<p>The program,\u00a0IMPACT, was hosted by The Van Wert County Foundation and aimed at increasing the capacity of non-profit organizations by developing and strengthening skills, instincts, abilities, processes, and resources.\u00a0Serving as an informational resource and acting as a catalyst to encourage stronger collaboration among nonprofit organizations essentially enhancing collective community impact.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_110756\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-110756\" style=\"width: 545px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-110756\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/2018-IMPACT-class-12-2018.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"545\" height=\"299\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-110756\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Shown are (from the left) Joe Steffan, Quincy Thompson, Danni Chiles, Kimberly Laudick, Kathy Taylor, Mary Ann Falk, Candy Clay, and Gary Showalter.<\/strong> <em>VWCF photo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Professionals from The Ohio Association of Non-profit Organizations presented workshops on the following topics: Board development, marketing, fundraising, outcomes and measures, financial and legal, leadership, and strategic planning.\u00a0A local speaker made a presentation on human resources, while The Foundation hosted a grant writing workshop.<\/p>\n<p>Organizations that participated in the inaugural year were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Crisis Care<\/li>\n<li>Van Wert Area Convention &amp; Visitors Bureau<\/li>\n<li>Van Wert Civic Theatre<\/li>\n<li>Van Wert County Agricultural Society<\/li>\n<li>Van Wert County Historical Society<\/li>\n<li>Van Wert County Humane Society<\/li>\n<li>YWCA of Van Wert County<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Only seven non-profit organizations will be accepted into this capacity building program for 2019. Requirements for acceptance is: 1) be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, 2) have received funding from VWCF within the past three years, and 3) be governed by a board of directors.<\/p>\n<p>Deadline for acceptance is Friday, January 18, 2019.
