{"id":112916,"date":"2019-02-05T08:48:14","date_gmt":"2019-02-05T13:48:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=112916"},"modified":"2019-02-05T08:48:39","modified_gmt":"2019-02-05T13:48:39","slug":"local-cert-given-wapak-proclamation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2019\/02\/05\/local-cert-given-wapak-proclamation\/","title":{"rendered":"Local CERT receives Wapak proclamation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday night at the monthly Van Wert Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) meeting, Auglaize County CERT representative Rich Garber presented Van Wert CERT with a proclamation of appreciation from Wapakoneta Mayor Thomas Stinebaugh for the local team&#8217;s assistance at the Koneta Inn apartment fire on December 23, 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"279\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/CERT-given-Wapakoneta-proclamation-2-2019.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-112917\"\/><figcaption><strong>Van Wert CERT Chairman Mark Klausing (left) receives a proclamation from Wapakoneta Mayor Thomas Stinebaugh from Auglaize County CERT representative Rich Garber.<\/strong> <em>photo provided<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This was a shock.&#8221; Said Van Wert CERT Chairman Mark Klausing. &#8220;When the phone rings, and someone needs help, our team does not think twice, we just go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur team received thanks from the first responders that night for helping, and I thought that was more than enough,\u201d Klausing added. \u201cTo receive this proclamation is a great honor, but never was expected.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Klausing and Garber both thanked the many donors from several counties that stepped up to help those families in need that close to Christmas.
