In addition, students were not able to turn in their money until the following in week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rivals United team of administration, advisors, and United Way board reps determined the best situation was to move forward with the totals being announced at the boys\u2019 basketball game on Friday night due to the many events that led up to the game and announcement. The great news is that Rivals United was eventually able to add another $6,020.28, bringing the overall total raised to $38,047.68.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen we first met we said that 2018 was a great event and that we didn\u2019t want to put any pressure on the kids to have to raise as much money this year,\u201d said United Way Executive Director Vicki Smith. \u201cWe just wanted them to work together to raise money for our local charities.
