{"id":114331,"date":"2019-03-05T08:53:53","date_gmt":"2019-03-05T13:53:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=114331"},"modified":"2019-03-05T12:59:52","modified_gmt":"2019-03-05T17:59:52","slug":"crowe-2019-peony-parade-grand-marshal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2019\/03\/05\/crowe-2019-peony-parade-grand-marshal\/","title":{"rendered":"Crow 2019 Peony Parade grand marshal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The 2019 grand marshal has been chosen for the Peony Festival&#8217;s Grand Parade.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Many wonderful nominations were received from the public, with Louis &#8220;Louie&#8221; Crow, nominated by Mary Deitsch, winning the majority of votes at the February Peony Festival Board meeting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n  <figure class=\"alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"252\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Louis-Crowe-headshot-3-2019.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-114332\">\n    <figcaption><strong>Louis Crow<\/strong><\/figcaption>\n  <\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Louie is a forever citizen of Van Wert,\u201d Deitsch noted in her nomination. \u201cHe is always working at his church in a quiet way, spreading the name of the Lord by doing good works.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe can talk to the youth of our community in an honest, kind way, on their level,&#8221; she added. &#8220;He is always busy helping someone in need.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Crow, a lifelong resident of Van Wert, graduated from Van Wert High School and worked at his family&#8217;s grocery store, which was located where today&#8217;s Hospital Thrift Shop is.
