COLUMBUS — State Representative Lynn Wachtmann (R-Napoleon) has announced that the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is sponsoring the Veterans Employment and Education Initiative at the Veterans\u2019 Memorial Civic and Convention Center in Lima, on Thursday, August 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
The focus of this event is to connect employers with service members and their spouses for meaningful employment and educational opportunities. Rooms will be set aside for honing job-seeking skills such as interviewing, networking, and writing resumes and cover letters.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a wonderful opportunity for the veterans in our area to connect with employers and showcase their many talents,\u201d Wachtmann said. \u201cIn these uncertain economic times, it is good to see businesses supporting our service men and women and giving back to those who sacrificed so much for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n
Agencies from both the State of Ohio and Federal Government, along with County Veterans\u2019 Service Offices will be available to assist veterans with questions regarding benefits, disability, education, starting a business, and more. Representatives from area universities and career centers will also be present to explain the programs and benefits available to veterans.<\/p>\n
