This week\u2019s Random Thoughts center around youth athletic camps, football, fantasy football and the Golden State Warriors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Youth athletic camps<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A big thumbs up to all those who run various youth athletic camps around the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a great way for younger children to learn more about sports, learn about the basics and interact with coaches and varsity volunteers, which is a big thrill for them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of these camps are well organized and well run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football 2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t know about you, but I\u2019m ready for football season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s shaping up to be an interesting season locally, at the collegiate level and even the pro level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Late August and early September can\u2019t get here quick enough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fantasy football<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many fantasy footballers do we have here? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve been out of it for three years, but I\u2019m jumping back into it this fall. When I \u201cretired\u201d after the 2015 season, I had won a championship after four championship game losses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first goal: don\u2019t finish last. Yes, it\u2019s a big fear and the fact that I may be a little rusty doesn\u2019t help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

WKSD\/WERT<\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radio stations WKSD 99.7FM and WERT 1220AM\/104.3FM have set broadcast schedules for the upcoming high school football season. Check Wednesday\u2019s Sports page for a look at those schedules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Golden State Warriors<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some Golden State fans claim the Warriors would have won this year\u2019s NBA championship if not for injuries to Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funny, it didn\u2019t seem to be a problem when they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, minus Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love in 2015. Injuries are unfortunate but they\u2019re part of the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A dynasty?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The debate is on \u2013 does Golden State qualify as a dynasty? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Warriors have been to the NBA Finals for five consecutive seasons, winning the title three times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being a Cavaliers fan, I don\u2019t have much love for the Warriors, but getting to the finals for five straight seasons is very impressive. But does this count as a dynasty? I\u2019m not so sure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
