{"id":120309,"date":"2019-07-15T06:59:09","date_gmt":"2019-07-15T11:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=120309"},"modified":"2019-07-15T06:59:16","modified_gmt":"2019-07-15T11:59:16","slug":"ohio-a-g-has-new-online-biz-info-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2019\/07\/15\/ohio-a-g-has-new-online-biz-info-tool\/","title":{"rendered":"Ohio A-G has new online biz info tool"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>COLUMBUS &#8212; Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has announced the launch of a&nbsp;new online tool&nbsp;to help Ohioans gauge the reputations of businesses and steer clear of those with problematic pasts. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"221\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Dave-Yost-headshot-3-2019.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-114727\"\/><figcaption><strong>Dave Yost<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Consumer Protection Lawsuit Search available now on the attorney general\u2019s website lets consumers check if businesses and individuals have been sued by the State of Ohio for violating the state\u2019s consumer protection laws.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPresident Reagan was fond of saying \u2018trust, but verify,\u2019\u201d Yost said. \u201cThis tool will allow Ohio consumers to verify, then trust.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The searchable database houses civil lawsuits and criminal indictments filed by the attorney general\u2019s Consumer Protection Section and its Economic Crimes Unit since 2013.
