On the 11th hole at Country Acres, junior Tyler Turnwald scored his first hole in one with a 170-yard 7 iron.<\/p>\n

“Some people go an entire lifetime playing good golf and don’t get to experience the thrill of an ace,” according to Van Wert Golf Coach Jeff Hood.<\/p>\n

\"\"Turnwald\u2019s teammate, Jacob Brake, shot 77 with a even par 36 on the front side of a challenging layout. Freshman Brandon Hernandez continued to show promise firing an 86. Rounding out the scoring for the Cougars were Adam Jurczyk and Vince Moreland, who both shot a 95.<\/p>\n

Van Wert\u2019s team score of 340 put the Cougs\u00a0in the middle of the pack\u00a0(10th place out of 20 teams competing.)<\/p>\n

“Our line-up was a little inexperienced today,\u201d Coach Hood noted. \u201cWe did not compete as well as we would have liked but we have a bunch of golf yet to play.”<\/p>\n

The Cougars return to action Friday at Fox’s Den in Celina.<\/p>\n
