{"id":124213,"date":"2019-10-26T07:23:26","date_gmt":"2019-10-26T12:23:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=124213"},"modified":"2019-10-28T07:03:58","modified_gmt":"2019-10-28T12:03:58","slug":"young-entrepreneur-gives-back-to-vwhss-ceo-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2019\/10\/26\/young-entrepreneur-gives-back-to-vwhss-ceo-program\/","title":{"rendered":"VWHS grad gives back to CEO program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Young entrepreneur Dalton Heppeard has been a familiar face at the local farmer\u2019s market for several years, providing baked good items for sale at the markets, but for the first time this year he agreed to set up a booth at the 2019 edition of the Apple Festival selling apple dumplings.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dalton-Heppeard-and-Kerry-Koontz-10-2019.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-124214\" width=\"350\" height=\"305\"\/><figcaption><strong>Dalton Heppeard, 2018 graduate and former CEO student, presents a check for $550 to CEO Program Coordinator Kerry Koontz.<\/strong> <em>VWCS photo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to this year\u2019s festival, Heppeard, a 2018 VWHS graduate, contacted VWHS\u2019s CEO Program Coordinator Kerry Koontz to discuss his intentions of donating 10 percent of his proceeds to the program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While a senior at VWHS, Heppeard participated in the CEO Program through an internship with local real estate company Bee Gee Realty in Van Wert. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heppeard noted that his CEO Program experience had such a positive impact on him &#8212; both personally and professionally &#8212; that he wanted to give back to the program that has helped him along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am honored and extremely humbled to accept this donation from Dalton,\u201d said Koontz. \u201cDalton has the drive, ambition, passion, and perseverance to be successful.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heppeard, who was also the top boy finalist for the R.K.
