{"id":124978,"date":"2019-11-18T23:28:13","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T04:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=124978"},"modified":"2019-11-18T23:28:19","modified_gmt":"2019-11-19T04:28:19","slug":"mona-wilhelmina-weinman-thompson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2019\/11\/18\/mona-wilhelmina-weinman-thompson\/","title":{"rendered":"Mona Wilhelmina Weinman Thompson"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Mona Wilhelmina Weinman Thompson, 87, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was born April 25, 1932, the daughter of Hugo and Lorena (Stuckey) Weinman, who both preceded her in death.&nbsp;On May 26, 1956, she married Roy Thompson Jr., who died in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Survivors include four children, Romona (Kevin) Carver of Dayton, Randall (Bonnie Bryan) of Van Wert, Heather Barker of Rockford, and Holly (Robert) Wehe of Willshire; a daughter-in-law, Kelli Thompson of Van Wert; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary (James) Breithaupt of Dewitt, New York.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A son,&nbsp;Roy Thompson III; and one sister, Myla Hyman Heine, also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 23, at St. Paul\u2019s Evangelical Lutheran Church near Rockford, with Pastor Robin Owen officiating.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visitation is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred memorials: St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church, Smile Train, or Parkway Music Boosters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Condolences may be expressed at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/ketchamripley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ketchamripley.com<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mona Wilhelmina Weinman Thompson, 87, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019.&nbsp;&nbsp; She was born April 25, 1932, the daughter of Hugo and Lorena (Stuckey) Weinman, who both preceded her in death.&nbsp;On May 26, 1956, she married Roy Thompson Jr., who died in 2016.
