{"id":126508,"date":"2020-01-04T03:29:26","date_gmt":"2020-01-04T08:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=126508"},"modified":"2020-01-04T03:29:31","modified_gmt":"2020-01-04T08:29:31","slug":"paulding-county-sets-bicentennial-date","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/01\/04\/paulding-county-sets-bicentennial-date\/","title":{"rendered":"Paulding County sets Bicentennial date"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PAULDING &#8212; On Wednesday, February 12, the Paulding County Commissioners will host a celebration of the Bicentennial of Paulding County with a ceremony to formally launch the county\u2019s 200th birthday year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ohio Governor Mike DeWine will be the featured speaker, while a number of county leaders involved with the Bicentennial celebration plan to discuss the past, present, and future of what makes Paulding County such a great place to live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Paulding-County-Bicentennial-Logo-12-2019.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-126193\" width=\"264\" height=\"374\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bicentennial opening ceremony will begin&nbsp;at 6 p.m. February 12&nbsp;at Branch Christian Church, 109 N. Main St. on the square in Paulding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are inviting the entire community to mark the beginning of a very special year for Paulding County,\u201d said Paulding County Commissioner Tony Zartman. \u201cOur County&#8217;s 200th birthday will be a time to celebrate everything that is truly special about our community.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening ceremony is free and open to the public, but seats are limited.&nbsp;Tickets for the public will be available starting January 16 at the Paulding County commissioners\u2019 ofice. Following the ceremony, guests will be invited to the Paulding County Courthouse, where a large-scale gallery of past and present photographs will be on display.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, merchandise featuring the official Bicentennial 2020 logo (mugs and t-shirts) will be available to purchase, with all proceeds benefiting John Paulding Historical Society.
