{"id":126740,"date":"2020-01-09T22:24:23","date_gmt":"2020-01-10T03:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=126740"},"modified":"2020-01-09T22:24:30","modified_gmt":"2020-01-10T03:24:30","slug":"vwhs-to-host-ohsaa-military-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/01\/09\/vwhs-to-host-ohsaa-military-night\/","title":{"rendered":"VWHS to host OHSAA Military Night"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Van Wert High School Athletic Department will hold a \u201cMilitary Appreciation Night\u201d at the varsity girls\u2019 basketball game against Ottawa-Glandorf on Thursday, January 16.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The night is in conjunction with the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) statewide theme of \u201cMilitary Appreciation Night\u201d that will be honoring active and veteran United States Military members at athletic contests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"125\" height=\"66\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/American-Flag-for-obituaries-6-2011.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8711\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The junior varsity game will start at 6 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All active and veteran United States Military members will be admitted into the game for free and will receive a voucher for a free bag of popcorn at the concession stand. In addition, all military members in attendance will be recognized through a public address announcement before the playing of the National Anthem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme for the night is Red, White and Blue to show support of active and veteran military members.
