{"id":128078,"date":"2020-02-12T04:54:34","date_gmt":"2020-02-12T09:54:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=128078"},"modified":"2020-02-12T04:56:40","modified_gmt":"2020-02-12T09:56:40","slug":"lady-lancers-cruise-by-ridgemont","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/02\/12\/lady-lancers-cruise-by-ridgemont\/","title":{"rendered":"Lady Lancers cruise by Ridgemont"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>SCOTT TRUXELL\/<\/strong><em>independent sports editor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lincolnview\u2019s most dominating performance of the year resulted in a 63-25 non-conference over visiting Ridgemont on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with a season high 63 points, the Lady Lancers converted six three pointers, forced 25 turnovers and pulled down 40 rebounds, including 18 on the offensive end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Annie-Mendenhall-2-11-2020.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-128077\"\/><figcaption><strong>Lincolnview&#8217;s Annie Mendenhall scored seven points and pulled down seven rebounds during Tuesday&#8217;s big win over Ridgemont. <\/strong><em>Wyatt Richardson\/file photo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRebounding has been something that has hurt us the last few games especially at Crestview and Fort Jennings and I tried to make that an emphasis in the practices leading up to this game and also prior to the game as well,\u201d Lincolnview head coach Kyle Willliams said. &#8220;We definitely attacked the boards hard and I loved our effort both on the defensive and offensive boards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m most pleased with the way our girls competed on the defensive end,\u201d the coach added. \u201cWe did what we needed to do to get a stop and then finish the play off with a rebound. Also, being confident and hitting shots was definitely a plus tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lincolnview led 15-9 after one quarter, but opened the second period with a 15-1 run, including triples by Brianna Ebel, Makayla Jackson and two by Annie Mendenhall and by halftime, the Lady Lancers enjoyed a 37-13 advantage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI always say before every game that we have to be the aggressors from the start and we definitely were tonight,\u201d Williams said of the first half. \u201cWe moved the ball really well and got a lot of open looks and knocked down a lot of shots early. Kudos to the girls for working hard and doing what is asked of them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Lana Carey scored eight of Lincolnview\u2019s eight third quarter points, with six of those coming on treys and the Lady Lancers led 49-21. Mckayla Blackemeyer scored all six of her points in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ebel and Carey each scored 11 points and Ebel dished out a team high seven assists. Jackson scored eight points, Mendenhall and Kendall Bollenbacher finished with seven each and Jordan Decker pulled down a game high 10 rebounds. Mendenhall also finished with seven rebounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lincolnview (3-18, 1-6 NWC) will finish the regular season at home on Thursday against Ada.
