{"id":128334,"date":"2020-02-18T00:01:58","date_gmt":"2020-02-18T05:01:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=128334"},"modified":"2020-02-18T00:13:06","modified_gmt":"2020-02-18T05:13:06","slug":"vw-woman-involved-in-fatal-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/02\/18\/vw-woman-involved-in-fatal-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"VW woman involved in Lima fatal accident"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Van Wert independent<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LIMA &#8212; A Van Wert woman was involved in a fatal vehicle-pedestrian crash that occurred near the intersection of Elida and Arthur avenues in Lima on Monday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"121\" height=\"160\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2340\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>According to investigating troopers from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kisha Kelly, 29, of Van Wert, was driving a 2007 Pontiac G6 southeast on Elida Road at approximately 6:54 p.m. Monday and struck Paul Hawley, 60, of Centerville, Pennsylvania, who had walked into the path of her vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelly was taken by American Township EMS squad to St. Rita\u2019s Medical Center in Lima for treatment of minor injuries, while Mr. Hawley was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen County Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also assisting troopers at the scene was the Allen County Sheriff\u2019s Office, American Township Fire Department, and A&amp;D Towing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The crash remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Van Wert independent LIMA &#8212; A Van Wert woman was involved in a fatal vehicle-pedestrian crash that occurred near the intersection of Elida and Arthur avenues in Lima on Monday evening.
