Programs must demonstrate that they are able to measurably influence specific Van Wert County indicators in the following categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Basic Needs<\/li><li>Education<\/li><li>Health&nbsp;<\/li><li>Financial Stability&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Application period is March 1-31. To be eligible, an agency must:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"90\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/United-Way-logo-9-2013.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43104\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>     1) be a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization<br>     2) maintain an organized, auditable, and accurate system of accounting (by United Way standards)<br>     3) offer human service programs<br>     4) have an active volunteer board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After application review and agency interviews are held, local United Way volunteers who make up the Admissions and Review Committee will make funding recommendations&nbsp;to the United Way\u2019s Board of Trustees in June. Once funding decisions have been made by the board, agencies will receive notification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any organization wanting to fill out an application should go to the United Way of Van Wert County website at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unitedwayvanwert.org\/\">www.unitedwayvanwert.org<\/a>, click \u201cResources\u201d to download the fillable PDF application called \u201c2020 Agency Application\u201d, or contact the United Way office at 419.238.6689.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those applying online must download the application to a computer or thumb drive. Applications are due in the United Way office no later than Tuesday, March 31. Email applications to&nbsp;<a>director@uwvwco.org<\/a>, drop them off at the United Way office during business hours Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., or mail them to 136 E.
