{"id":129345,"date":"2020-03-16T06:42:22","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T11:42:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=129345"},"modified":"2020-03-16T06:42:28","modified_gmt":"2020-03-16T11:42:28","slug":"more-local-events-canceled-postponed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/03\/16\/more-local-events-canceled-postponed\/","title":{"rendered":"More local events canceled, postponed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More postponements of local events have been announced to meet Governor Mike DeWine\u2019s ban on events of more than 100 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In accordance with state efforts to slow the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, the 2020 Peony Pageant scheduled for Friday, April 3,&nbsp;will be postponed until further notice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets will not be sold at this time; however, any tickets that have been purchased may be honored at a later date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Van Wert Peony Festival is considering our community\u2019s safety in this difficult time,\u201d said Pageant Director Kyle Mills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any future updates on the event will be determined as needed and relayed to the public as it develops and decisions are made.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on the pageant, contact Mills by email at&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">kmills925@hotmail.com<\/a>. Area residents can check the festival website&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/vwpeonyfestival.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vwpeonyfestival.com<\/a>&nbsp;for all festival and event updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At an&nbsp;emergency meeting held Sunday, Venedocia Lions Club has decided to postpone its Pancakes &amp; Sausage Day originally scheduled for Saturday, March 21.
