{"id":130419,"date":"2020-04-17T07:02:06","date_gmt":"2020-04-17T12:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=130419"},"modified":"2020-04-17T07:02:08","modified_gmt":"2020-04-17T12:02:08","slug":"vw-man-injured-in-allen-county-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/04\/17\/vw-man-injured-in-allen-county-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"VW man injured in Allen County crash"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio &#8212; A Van Wert man was seriously injured when he got out of a parked car he was driving after he had stopped along the side of Ohio 196, just north of the Allen-Auglaize County Line early Friday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"121\" height=\"160\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2340\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Eric N. Gutierrez, 34, was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital by Westminster EMS squad with critical injuries resulting from the incident, which occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to investigating troopers from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Gutierrez had stopped his 2013 Mazda 3 on the right side of the highway and was exiting his vehicle when he was struck by a 2007 Ford E-150 van driven by Raymond L. Fowler Jr., 66, of Waynesfield, who driving north on Ohio 196.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After being struck by the van, Gutierrez was thrown back into his own vehicle again, troopers said.
