{"id":130455,"date":"2020-04-17T20:51:29","date_gmt":"2020-04-18T01:51:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=130455"},"modified":"2020-04-20T15:37:26","modified_gmt":"2020-04-20T20:37:26","slug":"william-everett-pollock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/04\/17\/william-everett-pollock\/","title":{"rendered":"William Everett Pollock"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>William Everett &#8220;Bill&#8221; Pollock, 68, formerly of Middle Point and Van Wert, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 at the University of Toledo Medical Center of complications from COVID-19.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"275\" height=\"337\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/William-Pollock-obit-photo-4-2020.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-130456\"\/><figcaption>William Everett Pollock<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>He was born September 16, 1951, the son of Dwain and Dorothy Pollock. Bill played basketball and was a graduate of Lincolnview High School and Defiance College. On June 8, 1974, he married the former Carol Ann Stamper.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bill was a dedicated farmer and, in his retirement, continued to work locally. For many years, Bill attended the Ohio high school boys\u2019 basketball tournament with friends and family. Bill&#8217;s favorite pastime was watching Lincolnview Lancer basketball. Recently, he loved spending time with his three grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; twin daughters, Cammie and Carrie; and brother, Rex Pollock.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bill is survived by his son, Chad (Casey), and three grandchildren, Greyson, Keira, and Ashlyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of national health concerns, Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home &amp; Crematory and the Pollock family are following directives outlined by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>While family and friends are invited to attend Bill&#8217;s graveside service at 11:15 a.m. Friday, May 1, in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point, those attending the service are asked to stay in their vehicles.
