{"id":133626,"date":"2020-08-02T17:27:12","date_gmt":"2020-08-02T22:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=133626"},"modified":"2020-08-02T17:33:12","modified_gmt":"2020-08-02T22:33:12","slug":"gh-woman-dies-in-bike-car-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/08\/02\/gh-woman-dies-in-bike-car-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"GH woman dies in bicycle-car accident"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Grover Hill woman was killed Friday evening when the bicycle she was riding was hit by a car on Convoy Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/VW-County-Sheriffs-Star-9-2014.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55568\" width=\"200\" height=\"190\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach said Mary L. Looser, no age listed, was pronounced dead at the scene by County Coroner Dr. Scott Jarvis from injuries received in the accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheriff Riggenbach said his office received a 9-1-1 call at 6:44 p.m. Friday in reference to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Convoy and Hutchinson roads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputies found that Looser&#8217;s bike and 2002 Buick Regal driven by Mackenzie A. Baker of Van Wert were eastbound on Convoy Road, just east of Hutchinson Road in Hoaglin Township. Evidence found at the scene indicates the car rear-ended Looser\u2019s bicycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheriff Riggenbach stated the investigation of the crash is continuing and charges could be filed.
