{"id":134767,"date":"2020-09-04T22:52:55","date_gmt":"2020-09-05T03:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=134767"},"modified":"2020-09-04T22:53:10","modified_gmt":"2020-09-05T03:53:10","slug":"elks-seek-scholarship-applicants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/09\/04\/elks-seek-scholarship-applicants\/","title":{"rendered":"Local Elks seek scholarship applicants"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Van Wert Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, announces that applications for the Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarships and Legacy Awards are now available to any high school senior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"125\" height=\"118\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Elks-Logo.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25089\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for the Elks National Foundation\u2019s 2021 Most Valuable Student contest are available online at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/enf.elks.org\/mvs\">http:\/\/enf.elks.org\/mvs<\/a>. The MVS scholarships are only available to graduating seniors who will be attending a four-year college or university. Applicants don\u2019t have to be related to a member of the Elks. The deadline for filing the application is November 15.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Most Valuable Student information has been distributed to the guidance offices at the local schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Legacy Awards scholarships applications for children and grandchildren of Elks members are also available.&nbsp;&nbsp;This contest is open to any high school senior who is the child or grandchild, including steps, or legal ward of an Elk member in good standing for at least two years.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant must apply online only at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scholarship@elks.org\/\">enf.elks.org<\/a>\/leg.
