(Jan Dunlap\/Van Wert independent)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Van Wert won the first two games by scores of 26-24 and 25-21, but the Lady Bulldogs made a comeback in the third game, winning 25-19 to force a fourth game.<\/p>\n<p>That game was won by the Lady Cougars, 26-24, but not without a struggle, as the score changed hands several times before it was all over.<\/p>\n<p>Stats leaders for Van Wert were as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Molly Gamble 11, Danielle Hitchcock, 8, Maggie Allmandinger 7<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assists<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Millie Murphy 20, Claire Gamble 12<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serving Aces<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Molly Gamble, Maggie Allmandinger, Millie Murphy and Alexa Dunlap, all with one each<\/p>\n<p>The Cougar junior varsity team is now 3-0 in WBL competition and 6-1 overall after defeating Elida in straight games, 25-15 and 25-17.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Van Wert Cougar varsity volleyball team extended its Western Buckeye League record to 2-1 with a victory over the Elida Bulldogs on Thursday.
