{"id":136536,"date":"2020-10-27T21:13:20","date_gmt":"2020-10-28T02:13:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=136536"},"modified":"2020-10-27T21:13:24","modified_gmt":"2020-10-28T02:13:24","slug":"volleyball-season-ends-for-lincolnview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2020\/10\/27\/volleyball-season-ends-for-lincolnview\/","title":{"rendered":"Volleyball season ends for Lincolnview"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>SCOTT TRUXELL\/<\/strong><em>independent sports editor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FORT RECOVERY &#8212; In a matchup of two top 10 volleyball teams, No. 6 Fort Recovery ended No. 9 Lincolnview\u2019s season 25-22, 25-13, 20-25, 25-16 in the Division IV district semifinals on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lady Lancers (20-3) were the only non-MAC school at the loaded district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Lincolnview-Lancer-logo-4-2015.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62438\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Fort Recovery was a powerful team,&#8221; Lincolnview head coach JaNahn Evans said.\u00a0&#8220;With the weapons they had, we knew our\u00a0defense had to be on point and ready.\u00a0I felt we made too many errors with our serving and passing.\u00a0You can&#8217;t make many errors playing a team like that.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I was proud of the girls for competing tonight,&#8221; Evans added. &#8220;We battled a tough team and never gave up.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kendall Bollenbacher and McKayla Blankemeyer had 14 and 10 kills for Lincolnview, and Madison Williams added six. Elaina O\u2019Neill had a team leading 10 digs, followed by Williams (nine), and eight each by Bollenbacher and Zadria King. Bri Ebel finished with 33 assists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The loss marked the end for four Lincolnview seniors &#8211; Ebel, Williams, O&#8217;Neill and Sami Sellers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have four amazing\u00a0seniors and will miss them on and off the court,&#8221; Evans said of the group.\u00a0&#8220;I am grateful to have had the opportunity to coach them throughout\u00a0their high school years and wish them all the best.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fort Recovery, the top seed in the district, will face No. 2 seed Marion Local in the district championship on Thursday.
