James King and Michael Lambright came to the Wassenberg Art Center on Saturday, September 17, to jury entries for the 34th Annual Wassenberg Photography Exhibit.\u00a0 After getting an overall impression of the pictures in each category, they started paring down the 302 entries to a workable number for the exhibit.\u00a0 Once that was achieved, they evaluated the remaining pictures to select the\u00a0first and second places and the honorable mentions in each category.<\/p>\n

After that was accomplished,\u00a0 they selected the photos\u00a0to receive the\u00a0 Charles Wassenberg Best of\u00a0 Show awards\u00a0in color and B\/W, the Van Wert County Foundation award in color or B\/W,\u00a0the Wilbur Hartman and Katy Mounts awards in color and B\/W, and the John\u00a0Flagg Youth awards\u00a0in color and B\/W for youth 18\u00a0years old\u00a0and younger.<\/p>\n

During the judging, Wassenberg Camera Club Members were moving pictures, keeping records of accepted and unaccepted pictures, recording\u00a0awards and placing ribbons.<\/p>\n

Jim King has enjoyed long career in photography.\u00a0 In addition to personal portrait work, he has extensive experience in product and industrial photography.\u00a0 His work with historical artifacts and art\u00a0has led to\u00a0assignments in Europe.\u00a0\u00a0 Jim has\u00a0a sense of subject, color, and\u00a0texture, and possesses\u00a0exceptional\u00a0technical skills.<\/p>\n

King was impressed by the number and quality of the pictures.\u00a0 He predicted that such high-quality talent will produce an impressive show.<\/p>\n

Mike Lambright graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Graphic Design specializing in Fine Art.\u00a0 He currently heads up a 15-member marketing communications department.\u00a0 He directs all photo shoots for both foreign and domestic clients.\u00a0 His senses of composition, lighting and printing technique are well-developed.<\/p>\n

Lambright was initially impressed with how attractive the gallery was, then with the quantity of fine photographs on the walls.\u00a0He stated that this will be a worthy show for the Wassenberg Art Center and Van Wert.<\/p>\n

Following the reception\u00a0on October 1, the exhibit will run till October 28, except for Mondays when the Art Center is closed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
