{"id":141502,"date":"2021-03-30T23:53:50","date_gmt":"2021-03-31T04:53:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=141502"},"modified":"2021-04-01T07:18:53","modified_gmt":"2021-04-01T12:18:53","slug":"1st-fed-breaks-ground-on-expansion-renovation-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2021\/03\/30\/1st-fed-breaks-ground-on-expansion-renovation-project\/","title":{"rendered":"1st Fed breaks ground on building project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>DAVE MOSIER\/<\/strong><em>independent editor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First Federal of Van Wert officially broke ground on its expansion project at its Fox Road facility on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/First-Federal-groundbreaking-3-30-2021.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-141503\" width=\"350\" height=\"201\"\/><figcaption>First Federal of Van Wert staff and board members break ground on an expansion\/renovation project at its Fox Road facility on Tuesday. <em>Dave Mosier\/Van Wert independent<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFirst Federal has a long history in Van Wert County,\u201d said President Brian Renner, noting that the financial institution was first established in 1892 and had a downtown presence for decades before deciding to move to its present location 23 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expansion project will add several new offices and a larger meeting room while also modernizing and renovating the existing 23-year-old facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Renner noted that First Federal\u2019s building team of Adam Ries, Suzy Grimes, Diana Cearns, and Lisa Lawson worked with Design Collaborative and Structure First to come up with a building plan for the expansion\/renovation project. Minster firm H.A.
