{"id":141766,"date":"2021-04-07T23:01:47","date_gmt":"2021-04-08T04:01:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=141766"},"modified":"2021-04-07T23:02:37","modified_gmt":"2021-04-08T04:02:37","slug":"state-provides-6-1m-home-meals-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2021\/04\/07\/state-provides-6-1m-home-meals-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"State awards $6.1M in home meals grants"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Staff and submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>COLUMBUS &#8212;&nbsp;The Ohio Department of Aging announced additional funding Wednesday to support Older Americans Act home-delivered meals services during the pandemic.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, April 5, the Ohio Controlling Board approved the department\u2019s request to invest $6.137 million received by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021.&nbsp;The funds will be distributed to Ohio\u2019s area agencies on aging to provide home-delivered meals to eligible older Ohioans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate federal enhancements to our Older Americans Act programs to support older Ohioans during the pandemic,\u201d said Ursel J.
