Van Wert independent\/<\/strong>YMCA information<\/em><\/p>\n

The YMCA of Van Wert County will be holding a Membership Appreciation Event on Monday, October 3, from 4-6:30 p.m.\u00a0 All members and potential members are welcome to come for free food, children\u2019s games, giveaways and more.\u00a0 The event will be held at various locations throughout the Y, but primarily on the front lawn and main lobby.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so excited to hold this event for members and potential members,\u201d stated J.J. McClain, Y membership\/marketing director. \u201cWe have never held an event like this in the past and we just want our members to know how much we appreciate them, while also giving potential members an opportunity to see the Y and all it has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Included with this event will be a variety of things for adults and children. For the children there will be face painting, snow cones and games.<\/p>\n

For the adults there will be free chair massages, with licensed massage therapist Paula Davies. Davies comes to the Y with over 15 years of massage therapy experience. She has an office in the Y and offers discounts to Y members.<\/p>\n

There will also be two 20-minute Zumba demonstrations with certified instructor Holly Vaughn.\u00a0 Demonstration classes will be at 5:10-5:30 p.m. and 6:10-6:30 p.m. in gym 1.\u00a0 Vaughn will be starting a full session of classes at the Y, starting October 4.<\/p>\n

A flu shot clinic will also be provided by CVS Pharmacy for anyone ages 14 and over (check payments only; Medicare B accepted with card).<\/p>\n

All who attend will have the opportunity to sign up for great giveaways, including two PAC performance tickets to \u201cCoach: The Al McGuire Story\u201d on November 6; Y clothing and bags; and free six-month adult and family memberships.<\/p>\n

Hot dogs, homemade chili made over an open fire, and drinks will also be available.<\/p>\n

This event also kicks off a membership drive, which will start during the event and run through Saturday, October 8.\u00a0 Anyone who joins the Y during that week will pay no joining fee, a savings worth up to $75.<\/p>\n
