{"id":146096,"date":"2021-09-16T23:17:20","date_gmt":"2021-09-17T04:17:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=146096"},"modified":"2021-09-18T01:46:03","modified_gmt":"2021-09-18T06:46:03","slug":"vws-harvest-moon-festival-returning-after-2020-hiatus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2021\/09\/16\/vws-harvest-moon-festival-returning-after-2020-hiatus\/","title":{"rendered":"Harvest Moon Fest back after 2020 hiatus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Independent staff and submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historical Main Street Van Wert Executive Director Mitch Price announces some of the activities for the Harvest Moon Festival to be held in downtown Van Wert on Saturday, September 25, from 3-11 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2018-Harvest-Moon-Fest-Crowd-shot.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-107792\" width=\"350\" height=\"245\"\/><figcaption>Van Wert&#8217;s Harvest Moon Festival has been a popular downtown event for several years. <em>VW independent file photo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Food, fun, and entertainment will be the mainstays of the event, which is back after a COVID-19 hiatus in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to Main Street Van Wert, hosts for this year\u2019s event also include the Van Wert Area Convention &amp; Visitors Bureau and the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Food will be a highlight for this year\u2019s festival, with several food trucks providing a variety of cuisine choices&nbsp;&nbsp;for hungry festival-goers. Food trucks will include the Fat Pig Smokehouse, Linda\u2019s Cocina, the Pull-Up Grill, Sue-Terre\u2019s Food Affair, CJ\u2019s Shaved Ice, the Flying Burrito, and Deli on Main.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adult beverages will be served at a beer tent downtown from 3-11 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those looking for bargains and a variety of interesting items, there will be 15-20 market vendors in the downtown area for those who want to \u201cshop \u2018til they drop.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Kid Zone area will feature games and activities, including axe throwing, and three bounces. From 3-7 p.m. that day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with the beer tent, the event will also feature musical entertainment from the Hubie Ashcraft Band from 7-11 p.m. that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>There are a number of sponsors for the downtown event.
