She will be assuming the role following the retirement of Larry Lee, who was CVB director for 15 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Kim-Fleming-headshot-9-2021.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146339\"\/><figcaption>Kim Fleming<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Fleming celebrated a 35-year career in education, nearly 25 of which were focused on elementary education at Van Wert City Schools. She and her husband, Jay, raised their four adult children in the Van Wert area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fleming will lead the CVB\u2019s efforts to serve as Van Wert\u2019s marketing organization, generating economic growth through leisure travel and creating greater awareness of Van Wert as a tourism destination.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so honored to be selected for this position,\u201d the new CVB director said. \u201cThis is such an exciting time for our community. I look forward to working with community stakeholders so people within and outside Van Wert can experience all we have to offer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLooking back at the events my own family was able to attend in our community gave us many memories,\u201d Fleming added. \u201cBeing able to attend events as a visitor or a community member allows people new adventures in many areas of interest.
