{"id":151081,"date":"2022-02-08T04:39:57","date_gmt":"2022-02-08T09:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=151081"},"modified":"2022-02-08T04:40:28","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T09:40:28","slug":"bluffton-traffickers-sentenced-to-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2022\/02\/08\/bluffton-traffickers-sentenced-to-prison\/","title":{"rendered":"Bluffton traffickers sentenced to prison"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent news<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LIMA \u2013 Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has announced the conviction of a Lima man on 15 felony charges for trafficking a minor that he and his girlfriend controlled by getting her addicted to narcotics and fueling that addiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"184\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Bluffton-traffickers-2-7-2022.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-151082\"\/><figcaption>Grant Rose and Susan Walendzik<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis couple sowed the seeds of degradation: addiction, violence and sexual abuse \u2013 and will now reap the grim reality of decades behind bars,\u201d Yost said. \u201cMy hope is that these sentences empower the once-victim, to recognize she\u2019s a survivor so she can reclaim her true identity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, Bluffton resident Grant Rose, 58, was found guilty in Allen County Common Pleas Court of: one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a first-degree felony; thirteen counts of trafficking in persons, each a first-degree felony, and one count of promoting prostitution, a fourth-degree felony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rose was immediately sentenced to 42.5 years behind bars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rose\u2019s co-defendant \u2013 Susan Walendzik, 43, also of Bluffton, pleaded guilty February 1 to two counts of trafficking in persons, both first-degree felonies.
