{"id":152114,"date":"2022-03-10T04:37:31","date_gmt":"2022-03-10T09:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=152114"},"modified":"2022-03-10T04:37:34","modified_gmt":"2022-03-10T09:37:34","slug":"students-tour-businesses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2022\/03\/10\/students-tour-businesses\/","title":{"rendered":"Students tour businesses&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent staff and submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Van Wert High School seniors participated in the annual business tours on Tuesday, March 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eight companies partnered with Van Wert High School in allowing 90 seniors to tour their facilities \u2013 Alliance Automation, Braun Ambulances, Central Insurance Companies, Cooper Farm, CQT Cornwell (Kennedy Mfg.), National Door &amp; Trim, Tenneco, and Van Wert Health. Students were able to gain insight into potential employment opportunities, the challenges and needs of future employment, and the daily operations of the companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"418\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Central-Insurance-VWHS-tours-3-2022.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-152115\"\/><figcaption>Central Insurance was one of eight local businesses toured by Van Wert High School seniors last week. <em>Photo submitted<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>High School Counselor and CEO Program Coordinator, Kerry Koontz, organized the event for students and businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI continue to say that one drives by these businesses on a daily basis but doesn\u2019t really know what\u2019s happening within those buildings,\u201d Koontz stated. \u201cIt\u2019s a privilege for students to be given this opportunity where they are able to learn more about our local industries and the job opportunities available. At the same time, our businesses want to continue to develop relationships with our students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI want to publicly thank all the participating businesses for their time and efforts,\u201d Koontz added. \u201cThe students enjoyed the opportunity and it provided a great learning experience.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VW independent staff and submitted information Van Wert High School seniors participated in the annual business tours on Tuesday, March 1.
