{"id":152342,"date":"2022-03-16T09:41:47","date_gmt":"2022-03-16T14:41:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=152342"},"modified":"2022-03-16T09:41:49","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T14:41:49","slug":"three-people-appear-for-court-hearings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2022\/03\/16\/three-people-appear-for-court-hearings\/","title":{"rendered":"Three people appear for court hearings"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>SCOTT TRUXELL\/<\/strong><em>independent editor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Van Wert man avoided time behind bars after changing his plea to a pair of drug charges in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"234\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Gavel-photo-350.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146837\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Donald Hammons, 44, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a third degree felony, amended from a second degree felony, and a second case of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the third degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He requested and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction and the two cases were stayed pending completion of a treatment program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two other defendants appeared for arraignment hearings this past week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nathan Elston, 38, Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to felonious Assault, a felony of the second degree, and attempted vehicular assault, a fourth degree felony. He was released on a surety bond and a pretrial hearing was scheduled for 10 a.m. April 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travis Faulkner, 47, Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of theft, a fifth degree felony.
