{"id":153743,"date":"2022-05-02T04:07:39","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T09:07:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=153743"},"modified":"2022-05-04T06:04:14","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T11:04:14","slug":"mary-ann-macintosh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/mary-ann-macintosh\/","title":{"rendered":"Mary Ann McIntosh"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Mary Ann McIntosh, 59, of Van Wert, passed away Friday, April 29, at DuPont Hospital in Fort Wayne surrounded by her loving family.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Mary-Ann-McIntosh-pic.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-153744\"\/><figcaption>Mary Ann McIntosh<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Mary Ann was born May 13, 1962, in Van Wert and married the love of her life, Jeff McIntosh, October 26, 1985. She was a graduate of Van Wert High School and a longtime employee of both the Van Wert County Hospital and Van Wert City Schools.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mary Ann had a passion for building meaningful and lasting relationships with everyone she encountered. She was adventurous, thoughtful, and provided unwavering support and love to the family and friends she cherished. Whether through a greeting card, exceptional home cooked meal or dessert, caring for others came as second nature and she will be deeply missed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Joan Smith, and a sister, Denise Smith.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is survived by her husband Jeff; sons, Zach (Megan) McIntosh of Elmhurst, Illinois, and Austin (Erika) McIntosh of Van Wert; grandsons Owen and Hudson McIntosh; siblings, David (Sharyn) Smith of Van Wert, Donna (Barry) Coil of Middle Point, Deb Smith of Rockford, Daniel Smith of Celina, and Donald (Kari) Smith of Van Wert.&nbsp;Mary Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5,&nbsp;&nbsp;at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Charles Obinwa celebrating.&nbsp;Visitation will be at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, with a Rosary service following.&nbsp;Burial will follow at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred memorials: American Cancer Society in honor of Amy Geary&#8217;s ongoing fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online condolences may be expressed at <a href=\"https:\/\/alspachgearhart.com\">www.alspachgearhart.com<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Ann McIntosh, 59, of Van Wert, passed away Friday, April 29, at DuPont Hospital in Fort Wayne surrounded by her loving family.&nbsp;&nbsp; Mary Ann was born May 13, 1962, in Van Wert and married the love of her life, Jeff McIntosh, October 26, 1985.
